COVID-19 LESSON PLANS

You will do a short report over your favorite ungulate mammal.
Your report should cover at least the following information, but you will want to include more:
  1. The scientific name of your ungulate mammal.
  2. Does the animal have a hunting season? If yes, then when?
  3. Where can it be found in the United States?
  4. What type of habitat does it prefer?
  5. Why is it your favorite?

Lesson Plans for 9/3 to 9/6

Monday (9/2):

Labor Day – NO SCHOOL

Tuesday (9/3):

Students will working on the “Ch 1 Key Terms” worksheet, the textbook chapter will be posted on Google Classroom. If students do not finish the assignment today, then they will need to turn it in on Wednesday (9/4). This assignment will count as a daily grade.

Wednesday (9/4):

Students will complete and turn in the “Ch 1 Key Terms” worksheet, which will count as a daily grade. The textbook chapter for the chapter will be posted on Google Classroom.

Once they have completed the “Ch 1 Key Terms” worksheet, students will work on the “Ch 1.1: Principles of Zoology” notes which will be turned in for a daily grade.

Thursday (9/5):

Students will be finishing the “Ch 1.1: Principles of Zoology” notes (if needed), which will be turned in for a daily grade. Then, students will be working on the “Classification Activity” assignment in small groups, which will count as a daily grade.

Friday (9/6):

Students will working on the “Taxonomy: Identification of Species” worksheet, which will be turned in for a daily grade.

Monday (8/26):

Students will discuss in class possible careers in wildlife and fisheries management. Then students will start working on the “Advertising Careers in Wildlife, Fisheries, & Ecology Management” Project, the details of the project will be posted on Google Classroom. The project will be due at the end of class on Thursday and will count as a test grade.

Tuesday (8/27):

Students will continue working on the “Advertising Careers in Wildlife, Fisheries, & Ecology Management” Project, the details of the project will be posted on Google Classroom. The project will be due at the end of class on Thursday and will count as a test grade.

Wednesday (8/28):

Students will continue working on the “Advertising Careers in Wildlife, Fisheries, & Ecology Management” Project, the details of the project will be posted on Google Classroom. The project will be due at the end of class on Thursday and will count as a test grade.

Thursday (8/29):

Students will finish working on the “Advertising Careers in Wildlife, Fisheries, & Ecology Management” Project, the details of the project will be posted on Google Classroom. The project will be due at the end of class on Thursday and will count as a test grade.

Friday (8/30):

Students will do a walk through activity with their projects, then the class will hang their projects in the hall.

Extra Credit Opportunity

White Oak FFA will be hosting a livestock show starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 24th. The event will be held at the Maude Cobb Ag Center next to the Rodeo Arena. Students can help with the event or just watch some of the action. This is an extra credit opportunity for students to earn extra credit for this class.

Students will begin presenting their “Obituaries of Wildlife Conservationists” Project to the class. This will count as a test grade, presentations will need to be 2 to 5 minutes.

Friday (8/23):

Students will finish presenting their “Obituaries of Wildlife Conservationists” Project to the class. This will count as a test grade, presentations will need to be 2 to 5 minutes. Then they will be doing a gallery walk of the presentations and answering a questioned worksheet about the conservationists covered in class.

We will be:

Giving class introductions (Playing the Vegetable Name Game), receiving Class Supplies List, Google Classroom Login information, Remind101 Login information, and other start year procedures.

Friday, August 16th

We will be:

Finishing anything that was not completed from yesterday, then going over the class syllabus, rules, and procedures.

 

Meet the Teacher & Class Supplies

Meet the Teacher for White Oak High School will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 12th. This will also be the Open House for the White Oak High School’s Science Wing.

Supplies students will need for this class are as follows:

          Composition Book

          1 – 1 lb container of Disinfectant Wipes

          $6 for Hunter’s Education and Safety Certification

          Pencils/Pens

The first day of classes for the White Oak ISD will be Thursday, August 15th.

 

The last day for students to receive a schedule change will be Friday, August 30th.
